Cheap Drum Sets | Cheap Drums

Getting cheap drum sets is obviously the best way for a beginner to start drumming. But getting the right cheap drum sets from the right place, can be tricky. Depending on the style of drumming you want to play depends on how much you will spend one of the cheap drum sets. Samba and Latin drumming consist of a smaller set up; these can be found for extremely cheap. Rock and pop music uses a standard drum kit (as we call in the western world) these consist of a few parts of the drum which I will explain later. The good thing about getting a standard drum kit is that you can get a cheap drum set because there are so many online that are available for people to buy. There are certain manufactures that deal specifically in lower level drum kits, (cheap drum sets) but the true advantage is that they generally sound similar to the more expensive drum kit. Cheap drum sets basically sound the same in my opinion; I have sat professional drummers down and showed them a recording of two drum kits. They couldn’t tell that one of the recordings was one of the cheap drum sets and the other wasn’t a cheap drum set. I was amazed. It really shows that with many manufactures, that make cheap drum sets, it doesn’t matter about the kit itself its more about the player. Well actually it’s all about the player. I’ve seen fantastic drummers drum on steel bins, pots and pan’s, as well as cheap drum sets On the other hand I’ve seen rubbish drummers drumming with great drum sets. So when buying your cheap drum sets don’t worry at all about how much you can spend or what your budget is, because the practise you put it in will make up for that.

There are many places that you can buy cheap drum sets, I have had the best luck just searching around hoping for the best. This is what I did for my one of my cheap drum sets. Even though I have another drum set I am still using my original cheap drum sets because I love them so much. Just keep an eye open for opportunities to purchase cheap drum sets and you will no problems finding them. Ok cheap drum sets and normal drums sets consist of the same part; this is what you should be looking for when investing in cheap drum sets. (This is a standard kit)

Cymbals – The Cymbals on cheap drum sets vary, these are probably the only pieces of the drum kit which could let a cheap drum sets down, however some companies do give away good cymbals. It is down to a personal preference in the end. Cheap drum sets will usually have one or two of these, which is standard on all kits

Hi hats – There is always on one hi hat to the kit, when buying make sure you get the hi-hat pedal with cheap drum sets. To be honest I haven’t heard of anyone not getting a pedal with their hi hat, however its best to make sure that you get them included in your cheap drum set.

Snare – The snare drum is the centre piece to the drum kit, the quality of the snare drum doesn’t vary that much from cheap drum sets to other drum sets. So this shouldn’t be a problem.

Kick drum – The kick drum will sound big and loud on most drum kits, there will be no difference for cheap drum sets, this is also something you will have no problem with. Again make sure you get the kick drum pedal included in your cheap drum sets, this should come as standard, but always double check.

Toms – toms do differ slightly in quality but never the less the professional drummer I asked could tell the difference between the cheap drum sets and the more expensive ones, should you want to change these at any point they shouldn’t cost too much. This brings me on to another point that I shall mention the advantage with getting cheap drum sets is that you are free to upgrade when you want. All the parts of a cheap drum set should be fully interchangeable. This means that as you get more money are as you want to invest money into your kit you can slowly change all the individual parts for parts that you may like more. I have totalled changed and upgraded one of my old cheap drum sets, now the set is all brand new and upgraded, this worked great. At the time I didn’t have the money to invest in an expensive set of drums so I brought a cheap drum set. I then upgraded all the pieces to my kit bit by bit and within a year and a half my whole kit was totally different, it had all the parts I had put on. I had unintentionally but personally created my own drum kit. For this reason I would suggest for any who wants to drum to purchase one of the cheap drum sets you can find about. Most cheap drum sets are pretty easy to set-up. Because the cheap drum sets are aimed generally at beginners they usually make it extra easy to set up your drum kit, with good and clear instructions. Should you have a problem I would suggest for you to phone the manufacturer. Alternatively if you have a friend who is a drummer or who works in a studio ask him to set up your cheap drum set. Most of these enthusiasts will say yes, because it shouldn’t take much long than about an hour to get it perfect. Just remember though don’t worry about the drums you can or can’t afford cheap drum sets will do you just fine, as you can slowly build up and upgrade your kit over a longer period of time.
